Something about an AI who gets embarrassed about anyone seeing the consoles they’re running on, because they’re not the most efficient program and haven’t kept up with all their updates, so the physical unit that is them takes up a whole building’s worth of space.
They know that modern AI series can be kept on tiny units the size of your xbox, so in comparison they are big.
Somebody suggesting that they try the newest server unit only for the AI to have to explain how, no,, haha, they’ve kind of let themselves go recently, fallen behind on updates and sort of… wouldn’t even come close to fitting in the newest unit.

Leo, what has been your favorite “to-the-death” activity thus far? I feel there has to be a workshop-to-the-death somewhere in that hotel.

LEO: I think maybe Magnus was right about talking about the past… I’m not sure I’m ready to do that yet, but thinking about it and doing things that remind me of my old life, it feels like progress. prev ask (also about activities!)

i have like no beliefs of what happens after we die, no religious thoughts on it at all. my only wish/hope relating to it is that there is an endless and easily searchable statics page full of absolutely random statistics that's interesting but you'd have absolutely no way of counting. like "number of times sneezed", "hours thinking about ___", "highest number of times you were thought of unprompted in a day", "how many times you've inspired others", "percentage of your life spent listening to music of any kind", etc etc. i just would find it absolutely fascinating to see the end result after a long life.

A Break
I keep allowing myself to get distracted but I really really need to try to take a break from the internet or at least GREATLY reduce my time spent checking things here and other places.
For now I've reduced queue numbers, though I forgot there's now a pause button, so I might change my mind there later.
I have been really distracted for some weeks (technically longer, but the worst has been recent), and have been finding harder and harder to draw my self away, including trying to multitask with my phone. My sleep schudule is extra messed up and days I'm extra tired I've been having moments forgetting what I just read/said/thought. I try to read fic but can't, at first just booking/marking new stuff for later but now...and just many other things. I haven't really been drawing or much other irl hobbies either...
I'd noticed for a while I'd been slipping, but it really didn't hit me until recently. I've never really tried to take a true break, so I don't know how well I'll adhere to it. Even now I'm considering exceptions... (bare minimal Neopets dailies/anniversary stuff, subscribed fic, maybe check notifications but try NOT to check the dash or any blogs)

I do find it so funny that I will graduate college days away from my birthday. Like my birthday is literally in between the end of the semester ("graduation") and commencement
It really will be like a joint graduation & birthday party for me lmao
#speculation nation#i dont really do birthday parties anymore. havent in a long time. mostly just go out and do smth fun around my bday. ya kno#also have cake but like not in a party way. just like. here's cake lol#but im probably only gonna graduate from college once. which means i might as well live it up and all.#invite all sorts of extended family and people who have known me. etc etc.#actually it just kinda sunk in that i am. Computer and Information Technology (Systems Analysis and Design focus) w a minor in Communication#like those are words. it's a lot of words but actually it really is pretty accurate?? like that's indeed what ive been studying.#now how much i *remember* is another question. considering how long ive taken to get thru school lol#but that's what people will see on my degree. that's my Thing. graduated in Computer Systems and Talking.#idk it's just weird to have spent so much of my life on this and like That's the culmination. it took so much work.#even beyond a normal 4 years. i switched my major *twice*. switched my minor too.#first year engineering to undecided liberal arts (as a temp major trying to switch to computer science bc i couldnt stay in FYE)#but then computer science sucked so i switched to trying to get into computer & info tech. which is different. and better.#and ive been in it long enough now that ive kinda forgotten but it did take some fuckin work to switch into it.#like i had to take certain classes first & i couldnt take them during the semesters that in-major students would take them#and i had to have my gpa up to a certain level etc etc. so many hoops to jump thru. i think it took me at least a year. or more. idr#but i made it in and thats my major. thats my thing. computers and information systems and communication.#doesnt FEEL like im an almost-graduate. but then i think about all the things ive taken and learned.#and maybe i dont remember a lot of the more specific things from these classes. but i took core lessons away from each one.#wont be able to recite the theories but i can live them. and thats the point of an education i guess.#anyways im gonna have to start job searching before too long and eughhbb. need to get my license first tho probably.#which i will... i will.... i have so many things to deal with... my life will be So Different in a year...#it will require me to put in the work now. but i can do it. and then a year from now. i'll hopefully be in a better spot.#living somewhere else. graduated from college. with a license and a car. maybe even an IT job of some kind.#kind of scared of trying to find a Big Boy Job. aka a job that requires a degree and networking and all that shit.#rather than just showing up and being like Hi i can do this job. i am not a total drain of a person. hire me please 👍#hfkahfks so many things to think about. and through it all i am still dealing with DEADLINES...!!!!#but yeah this is why my writing has largely been put on hold. idk i have a lot of things im dealing with rn.

Today marks the 50th anniversary of the first 9/11, when the US CIA overthrew the democratically-elected socialist president of Chile, Salvador Allende, and replaced him with the notorious military dictator, Augusto Pinochet, to resume Chile’s status as a vassal state of the US.
Supported by American capitalists, President Richard Nixon, and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, the CIA instituted 17 years of state terror in Chile, torturing, imprisoning, and executing tens of thousands of people, including the infamous “death flights”. Chile’s living standards fell drastically as it became the first neoliberal experiment.
The YouTuber PlasticPills made this excellent documentary about Salvador Allende and his ambitious plan to transform Chile using a network of computers to manage and plan the economy with the input of workers.

also I'm pretty excited about returning to the place where I have a keyboard next week. If I can carve out some time, I'd love to keep on working on musical themes for the animatic project because I have ideas and I want to jam them out

My College Courses
In this post, I’ve typed up my full list of college courses organized by Smith’s seven major fields of knowledge (used for Latin Honors). You can also check out my courses page to see them organized by semester.
As an engineering and computer science double major, it was unsurprising that my top categories were Mathematics and Analytical Philosophy {M} and Natual Science {N}. In fact, two-thirds of my credits (120/179) carried either the {M} or the {N} designation. Note that my three UMass computer science courses (marked with asterixis) weren’t technically assigned Latin Honors designations, but I’ve categorized them with an {M} as nearly all Smith computer science majors hold that designation.
While the vast majority of my courses were for one of both of my majors, I am proud to say that I took a total of 50 credits that were completely outside of both majors. Over the course of my time at Smith, I took courses from 13-16 different departments. The exact number depends on if you count psychology or not as I took a course cross-listed between both philosophy and psychology. Furthermore, FYS (first-year seminars) and IDP (inter/extradepartmental) courses fall outside of the set departments so are tricky to count.
Next to each category, I’ve included a percentage that measures the percentage of my credits earned for the given category. Note that the percentages don’t actually sum to 100% as six of my courses held two distinct designations. I’ve marked these courses using the caret and inverted caret symbols.
